Director: Our staff is lead by Greta Sue Figueroa (formerly Pinnt). Greta graduated with a BA Summa Cum Laude in Child Psychology, and minored in Child Development. Her Masters coursework is in Child Psychology, and she spent four years providing therapy to clients ages 3 -12. Her Post Degree Certification coursework was completed (4.0 GPA) with Northern Arizona University. Greta holds a standard certificate to Teach K-8, with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education. She has taught for 17 years, with 14 years spent in Kindergarten. Most recently, Greta taught for 6 years at Mesa's Franklin East Elementary in Kindergarten, where she was Team Lead & Summer School Head Teacher. Greta also designed and wrote Franklin's new All-Day K program curriculum.
Greta's received only Outstanding Evaluations; was voted Yuma County Teacher of the Year; and was a Disney Teacher of the Year finalist. She has provided top-notch educational services to all ages, ranging from pre-K to GED tutoring. She is bi-lingual in Spanish, and has taught English as a Second Language to students with many different first languages. She is competent and successful in working with Speech impaired learners, and has had Down Syndrome students as well. She looks forward to meeting you and your lil' star soon!
Instructional Assistant: Sheri Heywood We are pleased to offer a ratio of 12:1 or better in all of our classes due to the acquisition of an outstanding assistant. She comes to us with her Associate Degree in Education, focusing on Early Childhood Ed. She has several years experience working for Mesa Public Schools, and has held several positions on Church, Parent, and School Organizations. She is positive, dependable, loving and caring, and we are overjoyed to have her on our staff. We are confident that you will love her as much as we do!
Office Manager: We are very fortunate to have Jennifer West (formerly Layton). Mrs. West is very experienced with Office Management, billing, and customer satisfaction. She is an invaluable asset to our program. She has also experienced Mrs. Figueroa's magic with students first hand while having her son in Greta's class. Hooray!
Tutors: We are thrilled to announce that Corrie Schreiber will join Greta in providing tutoring services to our Academic Accolades families. Cori comes to us with her Master's Degree in Education, and specializes in Reading and Writing Remediation and Enrichment. You will love her winning smile and positive attitude!
